Connie Buckingham (formerly Connie Malatsis) is a registered psychologist and the Principal Psychologist of The Social Learning Studio, a research-based psychology practice based in Melbourne, Australia. Connie is a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne.

Connie's work today has been shaped by her early career experiences as an integration aide within a student-centered teacher-guided school, applied behavioural analysis therapist, domestic violence support worker, school psychologist for the Department of Education and Training, and school counsellor for The Presbyterian Ladies College, Sydney.

Within her Melbourne based practice Connie develops and delivers social skills programs, professional development seminars, school based incursions, provides counselling and individual therapy to children, adolescents and adults with a focus on social development.

Connie also had the opportunity to contribute to the worlds first MOOC (Massive Open On-line Course) on the topic of Autism. This was developed by The Swinburne University and is a free resource that is available at

Connie has an extensive career in the field of Autism, however Connie's equal passion is early-intervention and research towards nurturing positive peer relations, and up-skilling children towards positive mental health outcomes. The Friendship Saver Program and research embodies this work.
